Shortly after creating Everyday Prayers, we came across this quote from St. Thérèse of Lisieux that perfectly encapsulated why we made our book: to savor the beauty + meaning of Catholic prayer.
With so many dense and overwhelming text-based Catholic prayer books, we curated Everyday Prayers as a simpler and more visual take on prayer alongside sacred art and insights from scripture, the catechism, and the saints.
”Apart from the Divine Office, which in spite of my unworthiness is a daily joy, I have not the courage to look through books for beautiful prayers. I only get a headache because of their number, and besides, one is more lovely than another. Unable therefore to say them all, and lost in choice, I do as children who have not learnt to read—I simply tell Our Lord all that I want, and He always understands.”
Of the 63 prayers in Everyday Prayers, we included some of the fundamental prayers that we all know and love to help savor the words and take our understanding of them deeper as we spend time in conversation with God.
This great doctor of the church also said, “Sometimes when I am in such a state of spiritual dryness that not a single good thought occurs to me, I say very slowly the “Our Father,” or the “Hail Mary,” and these prayers suffice to take me out of myself, and wonderfully refresh me.”
We hope our books fill your prayer life with beauty + meaning ✨
Happy feast day St. Thérèse of Lisieux! Pray for us 🙏🏼
